Thank you!

Fuller’s Hill Cottages are very pleased and proud to donate £122.17 to the RSPB which was raised from our guests kindly donating money towards our home made caramelized red onion chutney, damson jam and award winning Seville orange marmalade, all lovingly made by John & Jenny Jefferies at Fuller’s Hill, Little Gransden.

The cheque was presented to Laura Sherwood-King, the Community Fundraising Manager and Susuan Sutton, the Community Fundraising Development Manager at the RSPB HQ, The Lodge in Sandy on a sunny day in June.

Our very own farmer, John, has been working very closely with The RSPB on their corn bunting project, researching what habitats this “red listed” bird prefers to nest in.

Fuller’s Hill Cottages provide a great location for bird watching. The farm is resident to a barn owl family, which can frequently be seen hunting at dusk in the hedgerows towards the wood. The farm has a great deal of bird life including the yellow hammer and the rare yellow wagtail. Other birds frequently seen are long tailed tits, coal tits, wrens, jays, green woodpeckers and lesser-spotted woodpeckers.

There are a number nature reserves locally; Waresley, Gamlingay and Hayley Woods are very close, all with their own distinctive character. A little further away is the R.S.P.B. reserve at Sandy and Welney Marshes.
