Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of some very good friends of mine. I feel so privileged to be able share their special day and its one wedding that I will not forget in a hurry. It was great to catch up with old friends and remember the good old days at University. My friend Sarah (now the lovely Mrs Armstrong) looked simply stunning! Her dress was a work of art. I love summer weddings and this wedding was held at South Farm, Royston. South Farm is a popular wedding destination and its no wonder why. The garden is simply beautiful and the old buildings have so much character and charm. In the evening there was a fantastic live band who had everyone on the dance floor. I vaguely remember singing ‘Wonderwall’ by Oasis with Sarah’s great Aunty Jean (who is forever young at 89!) she even knew a few words to the song! There was the classic embarrassing Dad dancing going on and a few kids wearing out the knees of their trousers as they were skidding around the floor. The stuff weddings are made of! Not to mention plenty of fantastic wine and good food. The wedding cake was a tower of the most delicious American cupcakes I have ever eaten, they even provided little cake boxes for guests could take cakes away (The girls and I later had a feast of cupcakes at 4am) The best thing is that our holiday cottages are only 8 miles away and my friends got to be among some of the first guests who stayed. They loved the cottages and gave me some really good feedback. South Farm is now on my list of possible wedding venues. I highly recommend getting married there.
