Flying at Little Gransden Airfield and Gransden Lodge Airfield

Little Gransden is adjacent to the Fullers Hill Cottages, far from a busy airfield this provides the perfect base from which to plan and undertake flying tours of England and maybe the odd trip to the Continent. There are local airshows, museums (Duxford 12 miles and Old Warden’s Shuttleworth collection 8 miles) and places to visit, including the coast.

The airfield is home to many historic aircraft types including Boeing Stearman, Waco, Stampe, Tiger Moth, Mono Coupe and the only two Spartan Executives outside of the USA.

Microlight Flying Training.

Based here at Little Gransden Airfield, flying instructor Greg Burns can undertake courses in 3 axis ultralight aircraft training. The model used is an Icarus C42. Learn to fly in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and chat to fellow pilots over a cup of tea and piece of cake on the sunny deck of the clubhouse. Two Two Fly 07791 025943

Residential courses can be offered for those wishing to undertake intensive training.

Gransden Lodge is a popular airfield for gliding and regularly hosts events and competitions for modern and vintage gliders. Cambridge Gliding Centre offer trial lessons and flying courses for the aspiring glider pilot, as well as conversion or advanced courses for experienced pilots. Whatever your skill level and flying experience, Cambridge Gliding Centre is the flight school for you just 1.5 miles from Fullers Hill Cottages.

Gliding is suitable for all ages from 14 upwards. You can fly solo from the age of 16, and the challenges and rewards keep on coming, whatever level you reach.
