My spare time often revolves around eating and drinking. It is no surprise that the Cambridge Food, Garden and Produce Festival is a highlight in my calendar. In late September we can still expect warm weather and a little sunshine making in this event one of the last outdoor events of the year. The Cambridge Food, Garden & Produce Festival is back again in its 5th year. It runs from Saturday 15th till Sunday 16th September 2012 . It is a free event and suitable for the whole family. Each year this festival has grown in popularity and attracted some fantastic stall holders. It is estimated that over 20,000 will attend this year. There are large marquees containing food and drink stalls where you can sample and buy some delicious items. The British cheese section is my favourite place to spend time. Throughout the weekend there are live cooking demonstrations with Chefs from local restaurants, you can watch and ask questions as they cook their signature dishes. There are other cooking demonstrations showing cookery tips and skills for beginners and experienced foodies. This year I am going to make sure I get a front row seat in the wine and beer tasting tent. There is a garden section where the Gardening Questions Time Roadshow will give three presentations a day. The team take questions from the floor. I am looking forward to asking the team a question about my poor apply tree that has not produced any fruit this year, you could hardly say it was to dry ! . There are plenty of fun activities for children and lots of eye catching cakes and sweets to be eaten. It is lovely to still see good old traditional competitions such as the heaviest marrow, potato and pumpkin. I will be at the festival on the Saturday and hope to see you all there.
