Perfect Accommodation near Cambridge in the villiage of Little Gransden.
I was welcomed by the owner Mark Jefferies on arrival and had the good fortune of staying in the Old Dairy Cottage which I found to be very spacious, airy and with a well-appointed kitchen. The lounge has a flat screen TV and the kitchen has all necessary appliances. Upstairs I had a choice of two bedrooms and I found the beds to be very comfortable with lovely fluffy white linen. There was ample hot water, a good shower and a flat screen in the bedroom. There is a well thought out mix of carpeting and wood laminate flooring throughout, and it is always rather nice to stay in a newly built place!
The property adjoins Little Gransden Airfield, and being an aviation enthusiast, it was wonderful to see the sights of vintage, home-built and aerobatic aircraft. There is also a vintage aircraft engine technology facility onsite where they restore and overhaul a variety of vintage aircraft engines. Mark is a many times British aerobatic champion and a world renowned Air Show Display Pilot. He has created a wonderful setting for aviation enthusiasts to immerse themselves in a superb aviation environment. On a good day, you may be lucky enough to see one of Mark’s breathtaking aerobatic displaysin his Extra 330SC, as he regularly practices for upcoming events.
There are two grass runways and horses in stables which adjoin beautiful paddocks and fields, separated by pretty country hedges. Fuller’s Hill Cottages are situated in an idyllic country-side setting. The people are very friendly, the cottages are clean and modern, and the country lanes surrounding the area are the epitome of a picture-perfect English country-side, with meandering fields and interesting local villages. There are quaint restaurants in the these villages where one can have a pint and a good meal, which is again atypical of the English country-side lifestyle.
I had a wonderful experience staying at Fuller’s Hill Cottages and I am eagerly looking forward to my next visit.
